IBRA 2023 World Stamp Exhibition

This WSE was held from 25 – 28 May 2023 at Messe, Essen – a gigantic state of the art exhibition complex next to Gruga Park. There were a total of 809 exhibits. 64 Large Gold medals and 196 Gold medals were awarded. Palmares was held on the 27 May at the exhibition centre banquet hall. The Grand Prix National award was given to “Prussia-the first three issues 1850-1859” by Alfred Schmidt of Germany, the Grand Prix International was garnered by “The mail system in the Viceroyailti of Peru” by Julio Cesar Ponce Lozada of Peru and the coveted Grand Prix D’honneur went to “Uruguay: Early Issues of the XIX Century 1856-1862” by Walter Britz of Uruguay.
